Dell Gorman – No matter how far we go astray in our young lives, the way back to the love that nurtured us is through the cross. That symbol never turns us away. Despite our sins, despite the tarnish of the world, our Heavenly Father forgives and welcomes us back into the fold.
A Father Never Forgets

Dell Gorman – The bond that exists between a father and young child, when that child is still unformed and dependent on the strong hands of the father to guide him is ever present in a father’s mind. Wherever that child may go and whatever that child may do, that bond is still there.
The Lost Sheep

Endia Gomez – I like to think that no matter how “lost” people find themselves, they will always wind up safely back “home,” no matter how lost they were. My sheep is about as lost as it gets. The lonely palette on the raft indicates my own personal struggles with “being lost.” The sheep and I will be found, no matter how much we struggle to get there.
All I Have Is Yours

Hannah Glover – The idea of the prodigal became very real to me upon the realization that we are all prodigals; it is not just the extreme rebel who has rejected the Father. In our everyday humanity and selfish ambitions, we have all strayed from the Father’s presence. It is a truly beautiful and humbling thought to discover that our Lord continually holds His arms open, and in loving reception says to us, “All I have is yours.”
God’s Truth

Jan Gartrell – The abstract represents my vision of Luke 15. I see chaos when the prodigal son leaves and squandered his property, as I have used the chaos of mingling colors on the canvas. I used the soft red to show the calming effect of the joy engulfing him as he returns to God (with God’s truth represented as the bright red focal point of the painting).
God’s Love

Jan Gartrell – I painted an abstract to represent the prodigal son’s struggle to repent and come home to God and his father. The splash of different colors represent the different reasons holding him back from God, with the dominant red representing God’s love.
Rejoice

Bailey Gartrell – In this painting, the abstract collage represents the prodigal son’s confusion. I used the words from the Bible to collage all through the painting. Finally, in the end, the son finds his way and rejoices at this reunion with God and his father.

Deborah Gall – “…He ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.” -Luke 15:20
Melodies rise and fall with love’s outpouring. Crescendos of joy, mercy, and compassion envelop sorrow, pain, and suffering. A symphony of emotions. A harmony of heartbeats. What was lost is found. Life is restored. Heaven rejoices.

Deborah Gall – “…But while he was still a long way off, the father saw him and was filled with compassion for him…” – Luke 15:20, “Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; He rises to show you compassion…” – Isaiah 30:18 Wherever our “distant country” is, the Lord waits and watches for our return. In the darkness of our choices, He sheds light and keeps a path visible for us to follow home. When at last we turn and return, He is there to welcome us. There, in that moment of embrace and humble acceptance of His unconditional love, the landscape of our heart and the terrain of our life shift. We submit to His ways (less clearly defined than ours) as heaven touches earth.
Jazz Man No Longer Plays the Blues

Courtney Frazier-Jones – My inspiration for this piece was the idea that God, our Father, rejoices when one who was lost is found and surely God’s creation, His universe rejoices with Him. “Jazz Man” represents the lost, the city of tombstones represents what binds us and keeps us in our living death, separating us from God. When Jazz Man is found, the universe rejoices under the watchful eye of the head watcher. The sight of the newly reconciled Jazz Man setting sail into the land of the found is pure, joyful bliss.

Connie Fletcher – We spend our lives worshipping the gods of wealth and comfort, possessions and worldly pleasure, only to find them empty and powerless. Sometimes, only brokeness and utter loss frees us to find the one true God. As we let go of former gods, He fills us with His love and acceptance, purpose and power. He is the one true adventure.

DebiLynn Fendley – Here the son cries out for mercy….we know that the unseen figure in this work as well as the unseen figure in the parable is Christ Himself…the advocate for all forgiveness between mankind and the Father.

DebiLynn Fendley – Into each of our lives comes that moment where we must reevaluate ourselves and our situations. Here the son has made peace with what he must do…return to the father and ask for forgiveness.
The One Lost Sheep

Jeremy Etters – Luke 15 is about salvation and the value that Jesus puts on a soul. He will leave safe souls to find one lost soul. He will rearrange a house to find one lost soul. He will run to meet the one lost soul on his way back home. The three stories Jesus tells in Luke 15 all end the same: A party, all to make the point that heaven parties when one soul is saved. My picture is my version of the one lost sheep. Jesus says that when the shepherd finds the sheep “he joyfully puts it on his shoulders.” What a beautiful picture of a child’s salvation! God Bless!

Holly Etheridge – I chose to depict fireworks because in each of the parables there was a celebration at finding the lost.
