Messiah

My piece cannot easily be put into words; simply because Jesus indescribable. I worked from a photo of a popular image that has been used in many stain glass windows. It shows Jesus as our Shepherd and pointing heavenward to God the Father. Light is streaming from His Presence.

Art Medium: mixed media

Art Dimensions: 36″ X 24″

Art Price: $1,200

The inspiration for this work comes from reading about the seven days of creation and about the lampstand God told Moses to build. I see Jesus in the center of creation and in the center of the seven lights on the lampstand. On the fourth day of creation–which is the middle–the sun and stars were created–the light that holds all life together. Jesus is that light.

John 1:1

Art Medium: Watercolor, Pencil, and Ink on Canvas

Art Dimensions: 12″ by 16″

Art Price: $100

The Trinity, together at the beginning of it all. The Father is unseen, the Cross of the Son, and the Holy Spirit as a dove, together at the creation of the World.
I pondered many weeks over this, sketching one part or another. I thought of the weight of the words in the verse, how Jesus had existed forever, with God and He IS God. The three-in-one, over the world. The Word, upon which all of creation is founded and sustained.

Immanuel

Art Medium: acrylic on paper

Art Dimensions: 25 x 32″

Art Price: $500

Immanuel, meaning “God with us” seems a fitting title for this painting. Jesus left His heavenly dwelling and humbled Himself into the fragile body of a human being. Fully God and fully Man (Jesus) is held gently by a faithful and trustworthy servant of the Living God. Mary’s tender face peers excitedly into the eyes of her firstborn Son- reflecting every Mothers joy in her children. Jesus’ eyes, alive with light, peer back at His mother, all knowing and seeing. God’s glory, limitless and unexplainable, is represented by the golden halos found so often in early icons of Madonna and Child. God’s gift to each one of us is Jesus, the Light of the World.

My Prayer

Art Medium: Watercolor

Art Dimensions: 15″x16″

Art Price: $450

In the painting My Prayer , I was inspired by Isaiah 60:1 “… the glory of the Lord shines upon you”. In times of trial and tribulation ,as Christians ,we are secure in knowing that “upon you the Lord shines.” It is comforting to know that Jesus is always there for us and that the power of prayer is undeniable.

Life isn’t easy. It’s often confusing and the way of the world usually results in darkness. Why don’t we just see His Light?

Creation

Art Medium: collage/mixed media

Art Dimensions: 20″x28″

Art Price: $500

Then God said,”Let there be light”. In the painting Creation, I was inspired by the book of Genesis. After reading the passage several times, I felt the separation of light from dark, the dome (the sky), water and earth. The power of Creation and an orderly universe out of primordial chaos. Jesus is the Light!

Reflection

Art Medium: MIXED MEDIA

Art Dimensions: 16″ X 20″

Art Price: $500

Reflection:to cast back; to give back an image of; to think, ponder or meditate. As Christians, we have no light of our own but as the moon shines in the dark sky, reflecting the sun; we are to shine in the world reflecting Christ’s love and character. The Holy Spirit works within to transform us into His likeness. But as flawed, sinful human beings, our reflection is an imperfect image. (Artist’s image captured in photo in mirrored cross)

Seeking the Truth

Art Medium: Oil on Canvas

Art Dimensions: 40″ x 30″

Art Price: $650

The woman represents everyone who seeks Jesus. He is faithful to those who seek Him. His light reveals the truth of who God really is and who we are. Jesus said that if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be completely lighted, as when the light of a lamp shines on you (Luke 11:36). Because we have His forgiveness, we are free to come out of the shadow of darkness and walk in the Light, and be tenderly healed.

Peaceful Joy

Art Medium: Oil on Canvas

Art Dimensions: 24″ xx 48″

My heart leaps for joy and my soul is at peace when I rest in His promises. “He redeemed my soul from going down to the pit, and I will live to enjoy the light.” (Job 33:28). I want to bask in the light of His truth and the knowledge of His love. All praise and worship to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who is the Light of the World!

Dayspring Journey

Art Medium: Mixed

Art Dimensions: 40″ x 28″

Art Price: $500

Luke 1:78-79 My Dayspring Journey has been hard, due to my stubbornness to learn from Christ’s lessons which are filled with trials and challenges that have led me through low valleys and high peaks, a journey that pushed me towards apathy or knowledge and love of Christ. Because the Cross and the Holy Spirit are at constant work in my heart, the latter is finally happening. Each communion time with Him is precious and my spirit erupts in praise to Him. Even the trees join in praise! The truth principles in the Word continue to light my path and point me to the Light Bringer , the Rising Sun, the Dayspring, JESUS CHRIST!

The Cross

Art Medium: Acrylic

Art Dimensions: 14×14

Art Price: SOLD

In order to live in the light, one must take a close look at the cross. Christ paid the price on the cross. He took on sin and death so that we could have life everlasting. Accepting Jesus as our personal Savior is all the light one needs to live an overcoming life.
