Morning Light

Art Medium: Photography

Art Dimensions: 30 x 24

Art Price: $550

What might seem like a casual walk in an unremarkable place is amazingly interrupted with glorious light as morning breaks in the forests of Arkansas. It’s just a lane . . . but oh so much more when filled with the consistent light of our God’s sun.

John1:6-9 “There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. John

Art Dimensions: 8″ x 10″

I wanted to sculpt a bust of Jesus, but during the process I realized His glory could not be made manifest in this form. After thinking about His life, I wanted to portray one of his closest friends on earth, John the disciple whom Jesus loved.

Guiding Light

Art Medium: oil

Art Dimensions: 20×16

Art Price: SOLD

When we are lost Jesus is like our light house and guides us back to where we need to be. I wanted to portray God’s light and man’s light by using the moon and the lighthouse as contrasting elements. My inspiration came from John 1:4-9. “In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.”

Jesus The Light

Art Medium: Acrylic

Art Dimensions: 24×18

Art Price: SOLD

Last fall both my husband and I were told we might have cancer. Being fearful, I went to my painting. For some unknown reason I started painting a lion. While painting I prayed that God would help me see through my painting His hand at work in our lives. God showed me that Jesus’ light was shining on both our lives and He was in control. Since then I’ve had surgery to have the tumor removed and my husband’s tumor isn’t growing, so he is ok. As I painted the eyes of the lion instead of a twinkle, I painted little crosses because that is where all healing comes from. Jesus on the cross truly is the light of the world.

My painting is of a cross in the field. I chose to paint this because if it wasn’t for Jesus dying on the cross then we would have no hope. He came to save us from our sins by His death and resurrection.

Jesus laughs! Very seldom do we see paintings of Jesus laughing and having fun. But we know that the joyous Spirit of God’s light shown through Him and He had so much to laugh about.

He is my Light

Art Medium: watercolor

Art Dimensions: 22 x 30″

Art Price: $550

I often walk in the woods to enjoy the serenity and quiet. The sweet calls of the birds can be heard as well as the rustling leaves beneath my feet and sometimes a splash of a frog or a gurgling sound from the water. I often talk to God there in the shade of the low-hanging branches. Sometimes I shut my eyes and imagine Him standing there with outstretched arms. This is what I have painted. May you find Him there, too.

Astrological Burst

Art Medium: acrylic paint and gold leaf

Art Dimensions: 16 x 12

Art Price: SOLD

God, the Creator of the universe, created light and darkness. There is no light without darkness, and no darkness without light. This painting embodies the beautiful contrast between the two. This is the astrological lights bursting forth from the sky and illuminating the darkness, just as God illuminates the darkness in our own lives, cleansing our souls.

Art Dimensions: 14.25 x 17.25

Art Price: SOLD

This piece is a highly intricate totally hand written and illustrated broadside on Arches 90# hot press watercolor paper. The “I” is illuminated with 23k gold leaf. The words are written with sumi ink. The illumination is painted with gouache and shell gold in a Gothic style. The letters are a hand lettered style called Batard. I have been learning calligraphy for the last 32 years. My motivation for striving to constantly improve my skill is based on Isaiah 55: 11 . . . My words shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please.
